ABOUT ME
I founded my first company at 15, and firstcolo in my early 20s. What began as renting a few racks is now a data center operator for DAX-listed companies and medium-sized businesses – and with FRA7, firstcolo is currently building its largest project to date.
Besides firstcolo, I also invest in technology and infrastructure companies as well as in real estate and advise venture and private equity funds.

With CVC DIF, firstcolo gains one of the largest European infrastructure investors as a majority partner. The founding team remains on board and increases its stake – and firstcolo remains in European hands. First focus: FRA7 in Rosbach, AI-ready from day one.
Groundbreaking ceremony for FRA7
24 megawatts, up to 200 kW per rack, 100% green electricity and waste heat for around 3,600 households in Rosbach: FRA7, near Frankfurt, is firstcolo's first completely in-house data center – an investment of 250 million euros. The video shows the groundbreaking ceremony.
The German data center industry association has reorganized – and elected me in the first round of voting as the representative of data center operators to its eleven-member executive board. My goal for the next three years: that digital infrastructure is seen by municipalities and politicians not as a threat, but as a key factor for business location.

For over 20 years, I have been working in the fields of digitalization, IT infrastructure, and data sovereignty. My topics include: why Germany is falling behind in electricity supply for data centers, what AI means for infrastructure, and how Europe can remain competitive.
As a keynote speaker, I address audiences of up to 5,000 people, most recently on the main stage at CloudFest. My insights have appeared in publications including the Wall Street Journal, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, and Bild.
